I rent a storage unit that I store 1 car in at all times (I swap them out every few days). Tonight I get an email from their corporate office telling me to contact the property manager ASAP about the "items in my unit". This was after 9pm so of course they aren't answering the phone, nor can I get in the front gate to see for myself. I just put my classic truck in there yesterday. So my mind is going crazy thinking about what it could be about. Was it stolen, or broken into and vandalized? 9am can't come quick enough. Why would they send this type of communication after 9pm if it wasn't something serious. My rent has always been paid a month in advance.

What do you want to bet that they're going to say "if you want to continue keeping cars in here, you have to pay extra" or something along those lines (prove you have insurance on the unit, etc.) I know people who have had that pulled on them before.

bolt cutters.

But nah, I'm with Kevin. Will be something about how can they swindle more money out of you. Keep some jack stands down there and put it up on them and take two wheels off. Will stop the opportunity thieves. If they take it whilst on stands, chances are you couldn't do anything. Seen anyone scoping the shed while you've been down there. We used to keep our skid car in a storage shed and had all kind of weirdos come by. Had a huge list of number plates before we decided to build a shed at home to keep it and the other cars in.

It'll be alright, worry is usually a lot of trouble that never happens. 101 fridge magnets have told me that, must be true. Post an update on how it went

They made me purchase insurance thru them when I first signed up, even though my vehicles already have insurance. I argued with them that it was redundant, but they wouldn't let me get the promotional rate without carrying at least the minimum coverage. I'm sure the lady there gets a kickback for every policy she sells cause she was really adamant about it.

2 more hours and they officially open. Hope to know something then.
